Everything that comes through the National Sexual Assault Hotline is safe and confidential. None of the phone calls are recorded; however, most states have laws that if they feel someone is in danger they have the right to contact authorities. So that means if a child is in danger they have the right to contact someone. The hotline is running 24/7, but if the line is busy when you call you are allowed to leave your phone number and someone will contact you back. If you choose to do this the number is completely confidential.
