Hello! My name is Emma Rousseau and this is my Gold Award Project. I have been in Girl Scouts for 12 years and it has become one of my biggest passions. When researching an issue I wanted to change in my community, my initial thought jumped to rape and sexual harassment. This was due to a conference I attended at the UN called the Day of the Girl. Women all around the world were talking about issues they were facing and a frequent topic that popped up was rape and sexual harassment. From that moment I felt this need to do something that would help these women. But then I asked myself how could I do that? How could I have an impact on such a huge problem? That is why I decided to choose this topic for my Gold Award. I felt helping my community and educating them on this topic would be a great starter. With my documentary and this database, I hope to educate and inspire more people to take action.
